Work From Home Writing -
Ideas For a Homebased Business

There are several small business ideas that focus on work from home writing. The possibilities include both offline businesses and web sites. This is an ideal home based business for anyone who enjoys stringing words together. Also, it's a very low cost home business idea.

One of the main challenges for building any successful home based business is to find enough work. Fortunately, there is a high demand for anyone work wants to work from home writing.

WEB MASTERS AND PRINTERS

It is well worth approaching local internet and printing companies to suggest ways in which you might be able to work together. This can be a great source of work as you need only find one or two good contacts to obtain a good flow of assignments.

Web masters often encourage their clients to write blogs. A well written blog can be an excellent strategy for keeping customers in touch with a small business such as a local restaurant.

Often a web master will create a web site for a customer and advise them to make use of blogging for marketing purposes. However, many small business owners are not that confident about writing, or they're too busy. The web master can offer a blog update service and then outsource the writing work to someone like you. Or it may be that help is needed with the words when the web site is first created.

It's a similar story with printers or marketing companies. They may get approached by a customer who wants some brochures or leaflets and they need some help with putting the words together.

CREATING YOUR OWN NICHE WEB SITE

If you like writing, one small business idea is to create your own niche web site using simple to use software such as SBI Sitebuildit which I have used to build Successful Home Based Business.com. You simply write an article and then copy and paste it into an online template. Then press a button and it's a web page.

The key points to understand about building niche websites are:

  • You need to identify a niche topic where people are searching for genuine information - for example, I identified the theme of 'home based businesses'
  • You then need to write a lot of articles about various aspects of the topic
  • Once your web site has become well established, you can make money - just like a newspaper or magazine can make money if it has enough readers

How do you find the right niche? What can you write about? And how can you turn all this into a small money making business?

Have a look at this article on becoming an Infopreneur - that is someone who makes money by providing genuine and useful information.

You can write about any topic. It can be an interest or hobby and certainly doesn't have to be business related. It simply has to be information that other people are looking for on the Internet.

Many people don't like to write. Fortunately that leaves a gap for those of us who want to work from home writing.
