The Small Business Start-Up Kit for California

by Corbett
(San Francisco, CA)

The Nolo Small Business Start-Up Kit for California, by Peri H Pakroo J.D., includes everything necessary to build your small business from the ground up, legally and correctly. Included are guides on everything from naming, to e-commerce, as well as standard business forms such as a plan guide, and forms for partnership agreements, articles of incorporation, and others.

I highly recommend it for anyone starting a business in California. Basically, a step-by-step guide to starting your business the right and legal way. Nolo has always been an excellent resource for these books, as they are written by real world, licensed professionals, such as Business Attorneys, Certified Public Accountants, and Tax planners.

This is a must have money saver for anyone starting a small business in California. They also have one for other states.

I personally know a half dozen small business owners who have used this guide to save thousands in professional service costs, as well as preventing costly mistakes like using an infringing name, miscalculating taxes, and employment law violations. For example, knowing the penalties for late payment of payroll can save an employer thousands of dollars in penalties.

Even if you have a regular lawyer and accountant, this book is invaluable for objective, and third party evaluation, as well as saving money. Included is a guide for selecting a lawyer, accountant, bookkeeper, and other financial professionals.

Stuart's reply:
Many thanks Corbett. It's very helpful to hear information about books, like the Nolo Small Business Start Up Kits, that deal with the laws and regulations in different parts of the world. We do not cover these topics at Successful Home Based Business.com, as our articles cover general business themes relevant to home businesses worldwide - rather than particular regions.
