About Successful Home Based Business

The purpose of this article is to give you some detail about why Successful Home Based Business.com exists - and also about its author and publisher Stuart Warner. That's me!

Quite a few years ago I trained as an accountant with one of the multinational accounting firms. However, I soon realised that I was more interested in small business ideas. So I left the multinational to work in a small business start up. I then moved to a small rural accounting firm where I spent about ten years advising the owners of very small businesses.

In 1998 I started writing a small newsletter How To Get What You Want From Your Business, and in 1999 I trained as an E-Myth Small Business Coach. In 2000 I set up my own home based business as a small business E-Myth coach - and I've been running my own successful home based business since then.

If you don't know about The E-Myth, 'E' stands for Entrepreneur. Michael Gerber wrote The E-Myth book where he describes why most people who start small businesses fail. Basically, he says, most people who become self employed do not know how to build a business.

So, the E-Myth Coaching Program takes small business owners through the A to Z of developing good ways to organise their business finances, marketing, management, service delivery and sales. Most importantly though, it also teaches the importance of having a clear picture of where you want your business to end up. You begin with the end in mind, as Stephen Covey says.

If you can build a business along the lines The E-Myth suggests, you can develop it so that it has the ability to carry on producing results - and money - even if you are on holiday. This led me to the idea of residual income, or passive income as described by authors such as Robert Kiyosaki. I've managed to develop a number of sources of residual income for myself - including internet income.

So Successful Home Based Business.com is driven by two main ideas. The first is my passion for small businesses - why they work (or not) and how to improve your chances of success. The second is to develop another source of income.

So how does Successful Home Based Business.com earn me money? For the sake of transparency (and also in case you have an interest in internet business) I'd like to explain my 'monetisation plans'.

A niche information web site, like this one, is a bit like a magazine in a library. You can read it for free. A magazine earns a lot of its revenue from advertisements. A niche web site like Successful Home Based Business.com works in roughly the same way.

Paid Adverts - at some stage you might see advertisements on this site, and the advertisers may have agreed to pay me money for that privelege (lucky me!)

PPC Adverts - internet giants like Google also place adverts on web sites. They pay nothing up front, but advertisers will pay if someone clicks on the advert, and that earns me money.

Affiliate Income - some of the links from this web site to other web sites will earn me money if you go to those other sites and buy something from them. Not all links earn me money - I have provided links to some other web sites just to provide you with useful information. In all cases, my policy is to link only to good quality web sites which I hope will help you build a successful home based business.

Sale of Products - I may at some stage offer products for sale from this web sites - such as ebooks related to home based business.
