Can You Make Money by Blogging in a Home Based Business
Can you make money by blogging? If so, it would be a great home based business for the many people who are setting up blogs on all sorts of topics. When you write a blog (a web log), you are typing articles onto a web site that you own, maybe a Word Press based web site. Certainly there are ways of profiting from this - quite simple ways once you've learnt how to do it. However, writing articles is not enough. Here are the ingredients for success if you want to make money by blogging: - get a web site
- write the right articles
- attract a very large number of readers
Setting up a web site is straight forward with something like Word Press. And writing articles is easy if ideas and writing come easy to you. However, the tricky part is writing the right articles. You have to know what web surfers are looking for, both in terms of the general theme of your blog and also the individual articles you write. As an example, let's say that you know a lot about two completely different topics and that you could in theory write loads of articles about each topic. Which topic do more people want to read about? Well, I've just done a bit of quick research and I can tell you that bagpipes is the clear winner. So you need to know how to carry out this reasearch. Once, you've chosen your theme, and started writing your articles, how do you attract large numbers of readers. More and more these days, you can't trick the search engines like Google and Yahoo. They want web sites that provide genuine information of interest to web surfers. However, you still need to write your articles using well selected 'key words', and also to obtain links to your web site from other web sites. Of course, you also need to know how to turn all of your web site visitors into money! The key point in all of this is that, if you want to make money by blogging, simply throwing up a web site and writing loads articles is not a route to success. You have to be a bit more business like about it. Here's some useful information on the
difference between a blog and a web business.
