How To Choose The Best Network Marketing Company
If you've decided to give MLM a go, the next step is to look for the best network marketing company. Robert Kiyosaki dedicates a chapter called Choose Wisely on this topic in his book The Business of the 21st Century, which he co-authored with John Fleming and Kim Kiyosaki.
Kiyosaki, author of Rich Dad, Poor Dad and The Cashflow Quadrant, recommends network marketing as a way for many people to educate themselves about how to build a business. It is this educational element that Robert Kiyosaki puts top of the list for identifying the best network marketing company to join. He says, "The No. 1 reason I recommend network marketing is for its system of real-world business education and personal development". Most people, he says, would probably look at two key points when deciding which MLM business to join: compensation plan and product. He agrees that both are important, but not the top priority. He recommends that you identify an MLM organisation that is dedicated to your business education and training. Robert Kiyosaki discusses a number of different points: - The best network marketing companies help you develop a B Quadrant mindset. 'B' is for business, one of the four sources of income described by Robert Kiyosaki in his book The Cashflow Quadrant - see my review
- Is it important to join a relatively new MLM opportunity so you can get in on the ground floor? No, this is a myth, say Fleming and Kiyosaki. What you need is an established company that knows what it's doing. Many businesses fail in the first couple of years. So joining a new business may be a greater risk. You might strike lucky with a less established company - but you may not!
- Product is critical but it is not the top priority. There needs to be a product that people - you and potential customers - get excited about. Kiyosaki says that MLM is about becoming a master network builder, rather than a top class product salesman. So, it's very helpful if the product is in high demand and if you do not need great selling skills.
Whenever you are assessing any business opportunity, such as the best network marketing company, you need a set of criteria against which to make judgements. You may disagree with Robert Kiyosaki's views, in which case you would need to come up with your own priorities. However, if you do agree with his advice, you need to weigh up each company's range of education and training, together with their 'proven business systems' and support materials. Are you joining a real-life business college, or will you simply be a self employed product salesman?
